World Wide Open

Explain the name of your blog and why you chose it.

I need to move, I need to breathe/Shake the things that pull on me holdin’ me down, slowin’ me down/I need to run, I need to fly/Let go of the things that I, I’m holdin’ onto…

For the longest time, I forgot to give my blog a name. It turns out it was because I wasn’t inspired.

Last April, I went to a Tim McGraw concert. I loved the first opening act, a band I’d never heard of, called Love and Theft. When I came home, I downloaded their album and fell in love with the title track. It really spoke to me at the time (and continues to do so.) And it fit the bit of theme I had going on my About page. So it became my title.

I have no idea where life is going to take me any given day.

Each day, there are a dozen opportunities. A dozen roads. Each one leads to a different destination.

I might make a wrong turn, but hindsight is 20/20. I might make mistakes but they’re done, over with. I move on and pick a different road to jump on.

I need to let go of the bits of baggage  I have in my past, and realize that I have limitless possibilities. I will never be this free again.

I didn’t think at the time that I would still be trying to find the right road over a year later, but I am. I think I’m getting closer to figuring out which one is going to get me to my destination.
