six words

Hemingway once wrote a super short story: “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”

What story can you write in six words?

(This is my favorite thing ever read in AP English. We did this as a writing exercise too, but my brain can’t recall six words from seven years ago. So new ones I shall create.)

  • Phantom weight makes woman’s arms ache.
  • Silent fears, tears. Then, dawn arrives.
  • Waiting. The phone rings. Relief. Finally.

Not my finest work, but a writing excercise that really pushes. Feel free to give it a try in the comments!
